About South Fayette Hockey

History in the making...

South Fayette Hockey was started in 2000-01 by the late Tim Darnley. Mr. Darnley was an original founder of the South Fayette Hockey Club and an active leader in youth hockey for the Pittsburgh area.

After Michael Darnley’s tenure, the reigns were passed to Darrel Frank. Mr. Frank guided the growth of the program from 20 players to 40 players in his first year as President, including the newly found developmental program (K through 5th grade) in 2006-07. Mr. Frank moved on after his son, Jarret, graduated in 2010.

Steve Anthos became involved in the program in 2006-07, when the developmental program (K through 5th grade kids) was introduced. In the first year of developmental hockey he had 1 team with 11 players, in 06-07 there were 35 players in the Club. In 2012-2013 there are 96 overall players.
